Emily and I went to Thanksgiving Point on our way back from helping Nate and Kendra with their house. I've been taking every chance I can get to use the D300 and get used to controls, handling, etc. This is one of the shots from today's trip. I have to admit the actual flower wasn't quite this red, but it was its own very beautiful dark maroon. I cropped it to 8x10 aspect ratio, changed the hues a bit to bring out the reds, and upped the contrast.
